FIRST PROOF POINT FOR CONSOLIDATION
MEDIUM-DUTY ENGINES (MDEG)
- DEUTZ takes over IP and license rights for two engines (5.1L and 7.7L)
- DEUTZ further develops the engines for all applications and for next engine emission levels
- Engines will be produced by DEUTZ and can be used in smaller trucks or construction machinery
HEAVY-DUTY ENGINES (HDEG)
- DEUTZ takes over license rights for three engines (10.7L, 12.8L, 15.6L)
- DEUTZ further develops the engines for use in off-highway applications and distributes them
- Engines will be produced by Daimler Truck, final assembly by DEUTZ (use cases in heavy-duty machines)
The cooperation with Daimler Truck is a strong signal for DEUTZ
FAST AND EFFICIENT MODERNIZATION OF PRODUCT PORTFOLIO
- Future-proof architecture and design
- The engines achieve lower fuel and DEF consumption and thus have lower CO2 emissions.
- Engines will be produced by DEUTZ and can be used in smaller trucks or construction machinery
- MDEG engine gas variant (CNG), will serve as a strong basis to develop a hydrogen version.
Important step to further expanding our modern ICE business
STRENGTHENS OUR POSITION IN THE MARKET
- Allows us to tap into new customer groups.
- Significant development cost savings expected.
- For the next exhaust emission levels we can phase out older series.
- At peak levels we expect to sell more than 10k MDEG units p.a and more than 5k HDEP units p.a.
